Scott E Wilson Scott E. Wilson - Managing Director
Scotty Wilson’s public and private-sector aviation career spans five decades and nearly 11,000 hours in everything from Cubs to F-16s.  After nearly thirty years as a military and civilian member of the US Air Force, Scotty transitioned to the private sector where he has led multi-unit companies in the aviation sector. He has significant start-up, turn-around, and business-development experience.  Scotty is an avid general aviation enthusiast who owns and maintains his own airplane. He has an Airline Transport Pilot rating and is a type-rated jet captain; certificated ground and flight instructor; and is a certificated aircraft mechanic. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the City University of Seattle. Scotty lives near Tulsa with his wife Leslia.

John R Lawson

John R Lawson - Engineering Director
John is based in England where he has run a succesful modelmaking and prototype manufacturing business for over 30 years. His customer's include many household names such as Rolls Royce, British Aerospace Systems, General Dynamics and Boeing. Prior to this, John served for 14 years in the Royal Air Force as an aircraft engineer. Having completed an RAF apprenticeship, John went on to work on Buccaneer aircraft in the UK and Germany and then the Vulcan bomber before retiring from the RAF in 1984. John is an enthusiastic pilot, with glider instructor ratings and a private pilot licence. When not flying, John's other love is Ducati motorcycles. John has designed the gearbox and drive train in 3D CAD and has adapted the design to take the input from the Suzuki motors we have selected to power the replica. He is currently overseeing the final stages of the gearbox build in the UK before testing the unit and shipping it to Tulsa for fitting to the airframe. John lives in Nottingham, England with his wife, 3 children and 4 dogs!

Simon Birney - Commercial Director
Simon brings over over 20 years of business development in the IT industry to the team. A successful businessman, and aviation enthusiast, he is the UK-based European voice and face of the Le Rêve Bleu project. In this role, he liaises with sponsors, vendors, air show organizers, etc. Simon is focused on the business and commercial side of Le Rêve Bleu, and comments "You just have to look on in awe at this elegant, beautiful lady, to have the opportunity to be part of the team that will realise Bugatti and DeMonge dreams nearly 80 years on is nothing short of amazing"
Oscar Taylor

OSCAR TAYLOR
Oscar began his long, varied, and innovative career in high school winning first place in both the Oklahoma and National contests for “imaginative and practical projects.”   Over the years, Oscar formed  many companies in various fields including well-servicing operations, boat design and manufacture,   lawn mower design and manufacture , aviation, and more.  Many of Oscar’s innovations and inventions stemmed from need.  When a machine or piece of equipment did not do the job efficiently, he redesigned it, or if it wasn’t available, he invented it.  Today, Oscar’s tradition of creativity, invention, and innovation in both the new design and manufacturing aspects continues on with Taylor Riggs, LLC, a company he formed in 1997 with his son Brett.  Oscar is a major team member who is giving his time and talent in the development and manufacture of the  Bugatti 100p landing gear.  There is no way that this short bio does justice to the lifetime endeavors of Oscar Taylor,  but we hope that you  will read between the lines.  

Frédéric Gasson

Frédéric Gasson - Country Coordinator - France
Frédéric Gasson, 30, is a computer modeling engineer who consults for studios specializing in sport-car and concept-car design. Currently, he commutes between Paris – where his fiancée Fanny lives – andBerlin, where he works mostly with Bugatti SAS.  
An avid aviation enthusiast, Fred is passionate about the Bugatti 100P. He’s spent the past five years traveling throughout Europe and the United States, collecting data and building mock-ups and radio-controlled models of this extraordinary airplane. His 2-meter model of the Bugatti 100P was the subject of wind-tunnel testing performed by ISAE, the French National School of Aeronautical Engineering. Fred earned a mechanical engineering degree in 1999 and also studied at Espera Sbarro.  He recently won his private pilot’s license, flying a Robin DR 400. 

Jaap Horst

Jaap Horst - Bugatti Aircraft Association / Country Coordinator - The Netherlands
Jaap Horst, 44, is a consultant / researcher with DeltaRail, where his focus area is mechanical testing of rail systems. He did his PhD on fatigue properties of glassfibre reinforces thermoplastics, after earning his mechanical engineering degree.  He is very much interested in Bugattis, and maintains websites on the marque since 1995. His research led to the discovery of several unknown facts about Bugatti, including many details of the types 67 (a 16 cylinder aero engine) and 125 (post-war small sportscar design). He is the author of the book “Bugatti Legends” and is currently working on a few new titles.  After publishing details on the Bugatti airplane and airplane engines in his online magazine “Bugatti Revue” Jaap received reactions from several people all over the world. He decided to bring them together by founding the Bugatti Aircraft Association in 1998. He lives in Nieuwegein,Netherlands, with his wife Erika and their three teenage children.

David A. Snell

David A. Snell - Designated Airworthiness RepresentativeDave is a lifelong aviation enthusiast who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Bugatti replica project. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (BS in Aeronautical Engineering) and has nearly twenty years in the aviation industry. A private pilot, Dave has spent much of his career associated with general aviation kit and production aircraft and is currently the divisional engineering manager for a major aerospace manufacturer. He is active in the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Civil Air Patrol.Dave is also an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR). The Federal Aviation Administration considers the DAR as the primary resource for the certification of amateur-built aircraft like the replica Bugatti Racer.  Dave lives near Tulsa with his two young children

Ladislas de Monge

Ladislas de Monge - Artist / Designer; Family Historian
Ladislas and his brother Paul-Benoît are the grand-nephews of Louis de Monge, designer of the Bugatti 100 P. Ladislas has a diverse background that includes an academic degree in Sub-Tropical Agriculture and certificates in studies that range from art to ornithology.  An artist with a deep concern for the environment, Ladislas is an authority in the use of natural materials in organic architecture.  He’s exhibited his artwork throughout Europe and the Caribbean. He has a special interest in symbolic language.  The de Monge brothers are conserving the family archives with a special focus on Louis de Monge’s letters, photographs, and periodicals that date to the early Twentieth Century.  Ladislas lives near Brussels with his very patient wife Isabelle and their two daughters, Mira and Caroline.

Dominique Mathern Dominique Mathern - Country Coordinator - Belgium
Dominique is from Alsace, not far from the eastern French city of Molsheim, the ancestral home of the Bugatti Marque. He is passionate about aviation, especially the Bugatti 100P. He’s been studying the airplane for over 15 years, and recently completed work on an exquisite 1/5 scale radio control model. The model is of such high quality that it was prominently featured at the Bugatti 100 Exhibition held recently at Autoworld Brussels, giving 25,000 visitors their first glimpse of this extraordinary airplane. Dominique also located relatives of Louis de Monge and organized the first meeting between the de Monge family and Bugatti 100P enthusiasts. He is work
ing with French aviation authorities in support of the replica project’s first European visit. Dominique manages a freight forwarding company in Antwerp, offering air-and-sea freight forwarding services to importers and exporters. He lives near Ghent with his wife Isabelle and his two daughters,Florence and Marie.
